As we are getting ready for Formative Assessment 4, I must reiterate how much goal-setting matters. When students know their goal, they may reach it, but when they OWN their goals, they will be committed to reaching them.
Here are some questions you can ask kids about their goals.
- What is your +10 Goal for (subject)?
- What is your plan to reach your goal on next week's Formative Assessment?
- What strategies will you use when you take your test next week?
- What help do you need to reach your goal?
Remember, when kids own their +10 goal, they can expect to see more than a year's growth in one year. Don't miss your opportunity to motivate your students to reach their goals. This is critical for all staff members, especially those who are not specifically preparing kids for their formative assessment.

Announcements - School Calendar Vote & Cybersecurity
It is time to vote for our 2020-2021 School Calendar. Representatives from all campuses met, solicited input from their respective campuses, and gave their input to create the best school calendar that supports our goals for student learning and to help teachers optimize their professional learning to better support our students. We sincerely appreciate their hard work, feedback, and input.

Cybersecurity
There is a new law that requires all school employees to be trained on cybersecurity this year. You will receive an email on a REQUIRED cybersecurity training that must be completed in the next 90 days. On the February 17 Professional Learning Day, we will allocate 1 hour for all staff to complete this training. If you complete the training prior to this date, you will not be required to attend the training on February 17.
