Week 2.1 Coming Up

#LoveWell - Share your Ideas
The first six weeks is over and the 2nd 6 weeks is here.  Congratulations, you have done a great job finishing the first cycle of the year, and even though we gave our best, some students failed while many did not.

As you begin your work responding to failure, there are 2 reasons students fail to learn.
  1. First, they fail due to not doing the work, and
  2. Second, they fail due to not knowing how to do the work.
Our district leaders are currently developing plans to respond to failure due to difficulties in AHL or due to not submitting work, and based on their work, the district will develop a system of support for these reasons for failure.

What can you do to help?
  1. Give your leaders feedback on ideas that work.
  2. Share issues that are causing problems for you.
  3. Have faith that we can come up with a solution to make the 2nd 6 weeks even better.

I FEEL / I NEED TO graphic
To the left is an image that I found to share with students who are stressed about school and grades.  Not only is it good for kids, but the ideas are good for adults who are stressed with work.

  • C.I.S.D. teachers have done an amazing job transforming teaching and learning.  Please share your resources with Mr. Koch so we can keep the One Stop Shop up to date and helpful to everyone in the district.

Document Camera Recording Idea from Gina Dodge
Gina Dodge has made a demonstration video that shows how to record your document camera with your classroom teacher computer. You can then share this recording with your students through Google Classroom.
