Congratulations! You are about to end the 3rd quarter and boy, has it been a fantastic 3rd quarter. There are countless examples of how much growth we have seen and how much excellence we have experienced. Much of this will be shared with you on March 13 at our professional learning day meeting at 8 a.m.
As you end this week, I challenge you to reflect on the 3rd quarter and make a plan of action to make the 4th quarter. Here are some things to consider:
- Resources - Where do note-taking and C4B4Me need to improve in the 4th quarter?
- Routines - Which areas of need to improve in your routines? Where does student discipline need to improve and what adjustments do you need to make in your response to student misbehavior?
- Relationships - Which student relationships need special attention through a conversation? Which students need encouragement around their +10 goals or learning goals?
- Engagement - Which components in the lesson plan are working well, and which ones need more focus in the 4th quarter?
- Rigor - Which of the 8-12 essential skills needs intense focus in the 4th quarter? What activities or strategies can I provide to kids so they can master them?
- Intervention - What supports do struggling kids need in guided learning to master the skills necessary to succeed?

Chapter 3 in our book student is about our mission. This week focuses on pages 55-62 of the book as you synthesize our mission statement.
Carthage ISD Mission
The mission of the Carthage ISD is to provide every student with a first-class education, safe environment, and the necessary resources to guarantee every student’s academic, social, and emotional success.
If you dig deep into the mission, it clarifies that we exist to provide a first-class education to ALL KIDS, a safe environment for ALL KIDS and whatever resources and supports ALL KIDS need to succeed.
And here's the reason WHY.
We exist to GUARANTEE every kid's success.
This week, leave a comment on the following question. What is one quote from pages 55 - 62 that really resonates with this idea that Carthage ISD exists to GUARANTEE every child's success.

- Before you leave for spring break, make sure your room meets the requirements for the insurance inspection which will be held on the week of March 23.
- Before spring break, please pick up your rooms, remove food, and remove items for desktops and counters. Custodians will be doing a deep cleaning and sanitizing rooms over spring break.

“The stated mission should permeate every aspect of school life.” If we really exist to guarantee success for each child, then that should be evident in all we do and should guide our decisions as educators (individually and corporately).
