As you plan your focus lessons this month, take a look at the specific language in your standards that you are teaching. The specific language tells you what thinking your kids should be doing, and what situations they will need to demonstrate their thinking. In your focus lessons, don't forget that modeling thinking and learning is essential for students to know how to reach the rigor of the learning.

There are some exemplars who are making great strides to not only help kids but help their peers. Thank you to the following:
- Janet Reddell and Sheila West for doing an exceptional job supporting Ginger McLaughlin and her students while she is out with her husband.
- Mark Brown has stepped up to support Coach McLaughlin's students by making sure they miss nothing in US History
- Linda Kimberly for offering to help all JH teachers preteach the vocabulary for their ESL students.
- Camille Hall & Debbie Miller for supporting core teachers by integrating vocabulary and other concepts into their instruction.
- All of the teachers who voluntarily spent their Saturday in Shreveport learning from Gerry Brooks!
There are other countless examples of people who are going above and beyond to not only help their kids, but their colleagues as well. When help other people, we, in turn, help ourselves.
C2 of C4B4Me
How do you get the most out of C2 of the C4B4Me process. If student doesn't know what to do with note-taking or can't access the information from the brain (C1), they need to be able to access the information from the resources in the room. With that said, this week I encourage you to reflect on the design of your room and determine what opportunities are available to facilitate learning. This week, I have shared a 1.5 minute video from this article in Edutopia. I found it helpful to remind me what students need from their classroom to be a resource.
