Why do we put an emphasis on DOK questioning in lesson planning?  Watch this video and reflect on the questions you pose to students in your lessons.

Sometimes your lesson gets even better engagement from students when you start the lesson by asking students what values or character traits are necessary to make learning safe and productive for all students.

Excuses are nothing more than our inner negative naysayer telling us that we’ll never get there.  They tell you that it’s ok to not reach your goals.  The only way to win in No Excuse November is to be stronger than your excuses.  You can beat excuses if you commit to telling them to take a hike.

There is plentiful research highlighting the benefits of ambient sound. This one concluded that ambient sound can help promote abstract thinking and higher creativity.

Announcements
  • The RtA process has been updated of how to document your responses to assessments in your lesson plans
  • CTAS - Begin working on your growth page in your lesson plan by completing your middle of year goal-setting page. Principals will conference with your growth goal in December.
  • Pest control reminders 
    • At the end of each day, please assign students jobs for picking up your room.  This will help with our efforts in pest management and with our custodians.  
    • If you have food in your room or break room, it must be stored in plastic containers.
