• GRADEBOOK - Campus leaders, technology, and teacher representatives recently met with representatives from Region 7 to discuss grade book issues related to Ascender Teacher Portal. As a result, Region 7 will open the old txGradebook link for teachers to use while the bugs get worked out of Ascender.  Both Teacher Portal and txGradebook are used to access the same data base of student information so your first six weeks grades should be secure. The only drawback is that attendance cannot be submitted with txGradebook as the new at-home learning codes have not been added. Your campus leadership should be providing more details about the change.  
• +10 GOALS - Be sure to coach your students to create powerful +10 Goals this week.
• The At-Home Learning 2.0 Website is a powerful tool to keep your students and parents informed about how to be successful with virtual lessons.  Please send Mr. Koch any ideas or announcements that will help our at-home learners.
• AHL Decision - The last day for at-home learning students to return to campus for the second six weeks is October 2nd.  There will be no changes until the next grading period.  
• COVID Protocols - As more and more at-home learners come back to our campuses, it is more important than ever for staff and students to follow CISD Covid Protocols.  During the first six weeks, we had less than 1% of our student body and only 2% of our staff test positive for Covid.  This success is in large part due to our adherence to the guidelines and the great job of sanitizing our school services department has provided. Lets keep everyone safe!

Google Extension Ideas from Linda Kimberly

Go to ck12.org.  This is a kind of clearinghouse for all core subjects for all grades.  They have lessons, videos, interactive games, and practices that increase in level of difficulty as they go up.  One of the nicer features of the site is that it doesn't allow kids a one and done approach. Some practices won't let them move on until they have 3 correct responses in a row.  My students tried one of the interactive learning modules, enjoyed it, and came away feeling like they'd learned something. ck-12 is a bit difficult to navigate--it's not terribly well organized, but it does have a lot of content and will grade and import for you and give pretty quick feedback to the kids.
