Week 5 of School Closure

#BeTheLIGHT
This week has been another great week in spite of our continued closure.  I know that all of you are like me and look forward to the day we can all return to school.  During this past week, I have been inspired by your innovation, by your sharing of new ideas, and by your complete commitment to the kids and their parents.  You are the LIGHT!

My challenge to you this week is that you settle into your routine and stay connected.  By having a routine, you will lower stress and anxiety and by staying connected to other people, you are able to keep your spirits up.  We were not built to be in isolation.  George Couros said that the term social distancing is not completely accurate.  We should be physically distancing, but socially connected.

Announcements
  • Virtual communication with students - Please remember that communication with students virtually is an education record.  I know that we are all using our cell phones to communicate with families.  In this new abnormal, try as much as possible to use district-approved tools to communicate with students.  These tools are Remind, Google Classroom, Google Meet, Zoom, CISD email, and the phone relay system.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let your principal know.
  • Google Classroom - As part of our closure in April, we have identified 5 tasks for all teachers to complete.  If you need help completing them, please touch base with your principal.  Once you submit a task, please "Mark as Done".  CLICK HERE for Video
